Your son or daughter has done it! They have worked through twelve years of hard work, sweat and tears to reach the moment when they walk across the stage and receive their diploma. As they walk across the stage, you see that little girl or little boy who held your hand to cross the street just a few days ago.
Not only do you reflect back on the days of raising your child but you look ahead and dream of what your now young adult will be in life. Yes, admit it. You have your set of goals, dreams and hopes for your graduate. But, they have hopes and dreams of their very own. As the tassel is turned, the cake is cut and the celebrations come and go, it is important to remember that God created your graduate and has his own set of dreams and plans for him or her.
Today, your graduate steps into a new phase in his or her life. You also step into a new phase and role in your young adult’s life. It is in this phase of life where I encourage you as a parent to listen with open ears and heart to their hopes and dreams. It is important that you encourage them and respect them for who they are and who they are to become. But, the most important thing you can do for your graduate is to place them in the hands of their Father. For it is the Father in Heaven who has his ultimate plan for their future.
You have raised your child. He or she is now a young adult. It is time to allow them to “Dream On.”
Blessings and God Speed to all the graduates and their families.

More Beautiful Than You Can Imagine!
originally written January 10,2010
About a year ago, I had an amazing dream that to this day I remember in detail. I was looking to the Western sky and I saw a picture that looked as though it had been etched in charcoal. It first showed the nativity surrounded by angels. This picture began to fade and a gate that opened wide appeared before me. Through this open gate, Christ was walking toward the earth. His arms were extended ready to greet His people. At that point, I awoke from my sleep. All I could think was “Wow”!!
Then in the fall, I had another dream. It was a typical day of business with Jim and I being out and about on errands and such. Then, suddenly, the sky turned to night though it was in the middle of the afternoon. Next, we saw a big fiery sky and behind that fiery sky a beautiful city came forth. This city had streets of gold, bright lights and jewels. I’ve yet to see anything so beautiful.
This event caused chaos and confusion for some people. But, for those of us who know Christ, we knew what it was happening. All I could do was cry out: “It’s the New Jerusalem!”. As I awoke from this dream, I was affirmed that when it is time for me to either leave this world or be here when Christ comes, there is nothing to fear because it is going to be AWESOME!!
Don’t miss out on the most beautiful experience you can have whether it is life eternal when you leave this world. Or, you seeing Him here on earth when he returns!! Ask Jesus Christ into your heart today. You can only imagine what lies ahead of you on your journey with Him walking with you. If you are already a Christian, I ask you to share and witness the love of Christ to those who do not know Him so that when that great day comes they will have no fear but will be able to experience the wonder and beauty of His kingdom.
I cannot wait until the day I get to walk in that “beautiful city of gold.” How about you?
