Unspeakable Joy!

Miner in a mine of the "Cerro Rico" ...

Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor the fruit be on the vines, Though the labor of the olive tree may fail, and the fields yield no food; Thought the flock may be cut from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls-Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will have joy in the God of my salvation! The Lord is my strength, He will make me feet like deers feet, and He will make me walk on high hills.  Habakkuk 3:17-18

We sat and watched in anticipation as the Chilean miners were rescued from the depths of the earth after being trapped for sixty-nine days.  None of us can even to begin to comprehend what it is like to be trapped under the earth’s surface. It is through these men and their stories that God spoke to the world.  We saw first hand of what it means to hang on to your faith, and know God is with us in all circumstances! As a result of hanging on to faith and acknowledging God as well as the expertise of a lot of people, these men were rescued.  When each miner reached the surface, they were shouting joys, praises and thanksgivings to their Heavenly Father.  God literally enabled them to walk on high hills and proclaim their salvation!

In this situation, it could have gone very much the opposite way.  These men who were trapped could have easily seen the whole picture as dismal. They could have had no hope. Yet, they held on to hope, held on to faith and on to God. The end result was that the world got to hear thirty-three testimonies of faith and we witnessed the authenticity of unspeakable joy!

If anyone denies that God is not alive and at work in our world today they are missing the boat. He is at work in all of our lives. We may not get trapped as these miners did but we do have things to come along on our journey where we have the choice to give up or to cling to God and our faith.  Hopefully, we choose to hold to our faith and hold even tighter to God.  It is when we acknowledge God and His presence with us and cling to our faith, we will experience unspeakable joy. Not only will we experience unspeakable joy but we will want to go to the highest hill top and shout our salvation for others to hear.

What are you needing God to rescue you from?  Allow God to pull you out of the deep depths.  Then, proclaim what He has done for you.

God is good!

All the time!

All the time!

God is good!
